Paper Witch Owl Craft Supplies:
- Kraft Colored Cardstock
- Dark Brown Colored Cardstock
- Orange Colored Cardstock
- White Cardstock
- Scrapbook Paper Scraps
- Craft Foam Pumpkin Shape {I got mine at Michaels}
- Craft Foam Witch Hat {I got mine at Michaels}
- Scallop Paper Punch {similar – Amazon affiliate link}
- Circle Paper Punch {similar – Amazon affiliate link}
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Glue Stick or Tape Runner Adhesive
- Black Sharpie Marker
- optional embellishments – Halloween stickers, bows, glitter glue etc.
Directions:
- First things first – grab ONE sheet of kraft colored cardstock. This is the body of your witch owl and other than gluing the paper pieces on it, it will not be cut today. Set it aside for later.
- Now go ahead and grab the remaining colored cardstock, as well as your scissors & various paper punches.
- Out of the orange cardstock, cut out a large triangle nose for your owl.
- Out of the dark brown cardstock, cut out two smaller triangle pieces for the ears of the owl and then her two “wings” that will hold the pumpkin.
- Out of the white cardstock and scrapbook paper, cut out the eyes.
- Use the black Sharpie marker to color in the pupils.
- Now it’s time to assemble everything. Grab all your paper cutouts, your pumpkin shape, the witch hat, the kraft colored cardstock sheet and your glue stick.
- Lay your kraft colored cardstock shape on your table, in the orientation of portrait.
- My best suggestion is to start off with gluing down the eyes and then working downward from there.
- Below the eyes, will be the triangle nose.
- Go ahead and secure the craft foam pumpkin below that. You want the pumpkin shape towards the center of the paper but not too close to her face.
- Add the paper wing cutouts {one on each side of the pumpkin} in place.
- The last step for this pumpkin holding witch owl craft will be to secure the witch hat on top of the paper, along with the triangle ears.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit and display her proudly for ALL to see!
- Don’t forget to snap a few pictures of your paper owl witch friend to share with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
Make It Your Own Today: Although I hope you want to make your witchy owl friend look just like mine, you can also make it a bit more personal, by making it your “craft” mission to change up the piece your owl is holding. Maybe instead of a pumpkin shape, use a printed picture of your child or maybe even a small note for someone to read in the center. So many possibilities on this one and I hope you run with it!
Don’t forget, you don’t necessarily need the craft foam shapes nor the paper punches I used today, to make this craft work in your home. Although the pre-cut purchased versions make it super convenient and faster for you, you can ALWAYS hand-cut or use your Cricut maker to make these shapes from scratch & use instead!
