Yellow Minion Craft Made From Easter Basket Filler
Did you happen to catch my Crinkle Paper Bunny tutorial that went live yesterday?
Well… if you didn’t, let me give you a quick run down of it real quick.
Recently I took some inexpensive Easter basket filler paper and made an adorable BUNNY FACE out it. To me, it’s the EASIEST craft to make this spring season.
All it took was some recycled white crinkle paper, a simple plastic sandwich baggie and a few sheets of cardstock to complete. That’s it! The overall idea is super simple and inexpensive, especially since you are more than likely either going to buy or receive that cheap basket filler this holiday season anyways.
So now that you are caught up on what happened yesterday on Glued To My Crafts {and since I can’t let the inspiration just stop there} today we are taking the SAME CRAFTY CONCEPT but making MINIONS instead!
PAIR YOUR FINISHED CRAFT WITH OUR —> Crinkle Paper Penguin
Recently I was inspired by a simple pack of yellow and blue crinkle paper I saw at my local Walmart store {in their seasonal Easter aisle with the baskets.} They were just the perfect shade of color to me and one thing lead to another & here we are today with a minion inspired craft!
You know you and your child STILL LOVE those little minion characters, so let’s gather up those craft supplies & make some creative friends of our own today! Perfect for a crowd setting – like a classroom or Easter party! Find all the crafty details and full supply list below!
Happy crafting, my dear friends! Please don’t forget to share pictures of your stuffed minion friends with us on our Facebook page to admire from afar! #gluedtomycrafts
PAIR YOUR MINION CRAFT WITH —> Cardboard Tube Minion Craft
Craft Supplies:
- Sandwich Baggie {the Ziplock kind – one per minion craft}
- Easter Basket Crinkle Paper {blue paper shreds and yellow paper shreds}
- Gray Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Kid Friendly Paper Scissors
- Tape Runner Adhesive or Large Glue Dots
- optional materials – embellishments like stickers, bows, glitter etc.
Directions:
- First things first – open up the plastic baggie.
- Grab a SMALL amount of BLUE crinkle paper and stuff it inside the plastic baggie. Use your hand to press it to the bottom of the bag to create his pants.
- Follow this up with filling the remaining of the space in the bag with YELLOW crinkle paper. Stuff it until it’s full. You don’t want to mix the two colors of crinkle paper 🙂 they should just layer, one on top of the other.
- Now seal off your baggie at the top. Set aside.
- Grab all your cardstock and scissors. Cut out the minion’s goggles, eyes, mouth etc.
- Finally – to finish off the Plastic Baggie and Crinkle Paper Minion craft, glue all your paper pieces to the stuffed baggie.
- Then display for ALL to see!
Make it your own – although I did my minion piece with just one eye, remember minions come in various looks! You can easily add another eye, change up the colors OR turn your minion into a girl with a paper bow added towards the top.
