Keep scrolling for the ALL the details on these Easter Bunny friends!! #gluedtomycrafts
As usual… it all started with a recent trip to my local Michaels store, where I found some spring themed cupcake liners in the Easter aisle. I just loved the tiny flower print on the liners so much, that it reminded me of Easter dresses this time of year. Hence – why they ended up in my cart and how this post was born.
Since we have had such great success with our Popsicle Stick Ballerina post in the past, I decided to revamp it a little bit and make it more fitting for the Easter & spring season we are heading into now.
Not only are these small Wooden Bunny Ballerina Puppets perfect for pretend play in the living room BUT if you want to spread some good cheer today, I could see these finished pieces being placed in various places, as a nice surprise to those who find them. Think of your front yard in the dirt, in a library book or even a small gift basket you make for a friend. Whatever you decide to do with your “bunny-tastic” creations – I hope you AND your child have fun making these beautiful Easter bunnies together!
You can find all the details in the tutorial found below! Happy crafting my dear friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
Popsicle Stick Bunny Ballerinas Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {one per bunny puppet}
* Spring Themed Cupcake Liners
* School Glue
* White/Pink Craft Paint or Tempera Paint Crayons
* White Cardstock
* Thin-Tipped Pink Sharpie Marker
* Thin-Tipped Black Sharpie Marker
* Small Decorative Craft Bows
optional – rhinestones, glitter, glitter glue
Directions:
* First have children paint one side of their jumbo popsicle stick {one per bunny ballerina} completely white.
* Once the white paint is dry enough, go ahead and paint on the pink top part of the bunny’s outfit in the center, as well as the ballerina slippers towards the bottom of the stick.
* When done, set aside to let it dry.
* Next have children flatten/fold ONE cupcake liner in half and glue it to the center of their painted popsicle stick. This is the ballerina’s tutu. Repeat this step for each ballerina.
* Once the cupcake liner is glued in place, grab your black Sharpie marker and draw a simple bunny face towards the top of the popsicle stick.
* Finally, to finish off the Wooden Bunny Ballerina pieces, have children cut out TWO small bunny ears from the white cardstock and color the centers in with the pink Sharpie marker.
* Go ahead and glue those finished paper pieces to the back of your decorated wooden stick.
* At this point children can also add other embellishments {like tiny bows, glitter, rhinestones} that they see fit to really make it their own.
* Then display and/or play with proudly!
