Valentine Emoji Friend Craft Supplies:
- Large Heart Shaped Paper Plate {I found mine at TARGET!}
- White Cardstock
- Color Printer
- Free VALENTINE FACE Printable
- Crayons and/or Markers
- Skin Tone Cardstock
- Pencil
- Kid Friendly Scissors
- Hand-Held Office Stapler
- optional – scrapbook letter stickers/embellishments
Directions:
- First things first – download and print the FREE printable listed above, on one sheet of white cardstock. You only need one face printable per craft. Print as many as you like!
- Have children decorate the inside of the face printable however they like.
- Once done, use scissors to trim out the circular face. Discard the excess paper, while setting aside the face.
- Grab the skin tone colored cardstock, a pencil and your scissors. Trace both of your child’s hands on the paper.
- Trim out the traced handprints with the scissors. Discard excess paper.
- Now grab the stapler and all your paper pieces, along with the heart paper plate.
- Staple the head to the back of the heart paper plate, so it looks like he is hiding/peeking behind it.
- Grab the handprints and slightly fold them around the paper plate and staple them so they look like they are holding the paper plate heart.
- And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit to your Paper Plate Valentine Friend before displaying proudly for all to see!
Make it your own:
Want to make it look more like a girl? Add several strands of craft yarn or cardstock strips for “hair” on the head.
You can also change up the colors you color the head and use for the handprints. Maybe you want it to look more like an emoji? Use yellow for everything instead!
Don’t have a heart shaped paper plate? Make a large heart out of cardstock instead!
One last tip – when children use letter stickers to write fun messages in the inside of their heart, this would make a great paper valentine for them to give to someone special they know!
