Dollar Tree Find – Sleigh Riding Handprint Snowmen

A DIY Christmas not only let’s you set the scene with flair but you are also making crafting memories that are sure to last a lifetime! We love INSPIRING those moments and we can’t wait for you to check out our latest Dollar Tree Find – Sleigh Riding Handprint Snowmen tutorial!

Dollar Tree Find - Sleigh Riding Handprint Snowmen

We love giving you fun and easy kids craft ideas, and this one is no exception! This sleigh riding handprint snowman is perfect for Christmas. All you need is a Dollar Tree find and some cardstock paper, and you’re good to go! We hope you enjoy this tutorial. Happy crafting!

Hands down, Dollar Tree is one of my favorite places to “stalk” for inexpensive materials for our craft tutorials. You can’t beat $1 for EVERYTHING in the store and they typically don’t disappoint on the trends and/or holiday stuff.

The other day, I was scrolling through their front aisles when I came across one of these small tinsel covered sleighs in the Christmas section. The sleigh itself is pretty sturdy, stands up on it’s own and has a pretty good opening for you to place something inside. After playing with some ideas in my head, I instantly envisioned some “snowmen” sitting in Santa’s sleigh, going for a joy ride.

And that leads us to today’s post! Keep on scrolling for a few more details on how I pulled it together with my son, within minutes. From there, I hope you are inspired to recreate it yourself because it literally will cost you ONE DOLLAR from start to finish {not too shabby, right?} and it makes for custom decor you can even gift to someone this holiday season! Remember – it can left out in your home decor for winter as well!

So don’t let this idea melt away! Happy crafting, my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your beautiful handprint snowmen keepsake with us on our Facebook page! #gluedtomycrafts

Handprint Snowmen In Sleigh

These little guys are so adorable and easy to make! All you need is a few supplies from Dollar Tree and you’re ready to get started. This would be a great craft to do with your kids this holiday season.

Craft Supplies:

  • Small Decorative Sleigh with opening {Dollar Tree – Christmas section}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie Markers
  • School Glue or Glue Stick

Directions:

  • First grab your white cardstock, pencil and scissors. Trace one of your child’s hands {laid flat on the paper} on the white cardstock. Trim out what you just raced, with the scissors. Discard excess paper and keep the handprint.
  • Now grab your black cardstock. Cut out hat shapes for each finger, which will be for each snowman.
  • Glue those hat cutouts to the tips of the handprint cutout.
  • Now grab your Sharpie markers and draw on snowman faces on each finger. Orange carrot noses and black dots for eyes/mouth.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit {like some glitter!}
  • When ready – simply slide your decorated handprint into the opening of the sleigh and display as is. If you need EXTRA securing for the handprint snowmen, just grab some hot glue and glue it inside the sleigh.
  • Display proudly for all to see!
