It’s a feast of color, imagination, and fine motor skill-building—perfect for kids of all ages. Plus, it’s a lovely way to celebrate the beauty of fall with art.

Read on for a step-by-step guide to this exciting and mess-friendly (but not too messy!) craft idea.

Craft Supplies:

This craft uses simple materials, most of which you might already have at home. Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Free Fox Printable {ON BOX.COM}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Watercolors
  • Paint Brush
  • Dish w/water
  • Black Glitter Glue
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Small Black Pom Poms

Directions:

  • First things first on your radar – print out the FOX TEMPLATE above, on simple white cardstock {or any color you like!}
  • Print our fox design as much and many times as you like {but only for personal use only please!}
  • Next, if desired, you can cut the fox body template out with scissors before or after you paint them. I opted for not cutting mine out but it’s just another angle you can take this craft, if it interests you! 🙂
  • Now it’s time to paint! Let the kids go wide and paint their little hearts out! Remember – you can make this a teachable moment on how to make different shades of red and orange, with the colors they have in front of them {or let them go wild and paint their fox however they like!}
  • For added flair {and more crafty fun} have children add black glitter glue around the edges and inside the painted fox design.
  • Be sure to also glue on the wiggle eyes at this point in time, as well.
  • Set aside to let it dry when done.
  • Finally – display your hard work proudly!
