We are dreaming of pumpkins and cars clashing together for our latest Paper Plate Pumpkin Car kid craft tutorial!
Do you have a little boy who is dreaming of a “car” themed craft to do this fall season?
I’m probably not alone in this “season of life” but sometimes I feel like my son is the ONLY one requesting car and/or truck ANYTHING these days. If he EVER stops talking about either, I will be highly surprised and maybe in complete SHOCK!
Anyways, as usual with these car themed kid craft ideas on Glued To My Crafts, this Paper Plate Pumpkin Car tutorial is inspired by my son and his love of things with wheels. He loves cars and I love incorporating his love into all the seasons. Hopefully you can appreciate that gesture too and will find this DIY idea useful! I’ve even included a free printable that you are free to take and use today!
Find all the details below! I’ll be working on a Christmas version soon {with some slight changes, of course and a Christmas tree on top!} so stay tuned for that as well!
Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
Paper Plate Pumpkin Car Craft Supplies:
- Large Paper Plate
- FREE Template {download HERE}
- White Cardstock
- Color Printer
- Craft Scissors
- Orange Craft Paint
- Paint Brush
- Various Colored Markers/Crayons
- Brown Cardstock
- School Glue
- Stapler
- Green Pipe Cleaner
- optional – stickers, glitter, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
- First things first – cut your LARGE paper plate in half. You only need ONE paper plate half per car – keep that in mind :-)
- Next up – paint the paper plate half completely orange with a paint brush. Set aside to let your piece dry completely.
- Now download and print the FREE template above. Print out the file in color. You only need to print one car printable per craft.
- Using scissors, trim out the car piece and wheels in the printable {It’s one long piece. Don’t separate the wheels from the car bottom.}
- Before you discard the leftover white paper from the printable, trim out TWO windows for your pumpkin car. Set aside.
- Grab the brown cardstock. Trim out a headlight and a stem for the pumpkin. Set aside.
- Now grab your green pipe cleaner. Curl it for your pumpkin stem.
- Once the paper plate is dry and you have everything cut out, it’s time to start assembling your pumpkin car.
- Glue/staple the cardstock embellishments in place on the paper plate. Add the curled pipe cleaner to the top of the car.
- Finally – if desired, take markers and stickers & draw someone driving the car. Add anything else you like for that custom look, before displaying proudly!
