Directions:

  • First things first – print the gravestone printable above. The printable will provide you with FOUR gravestones. This means you can do this craft four times or with four children.
  • Take your scissors and trim out the gravestones in the printable. You need one gravestone per craft.
  • Grab one gravestone cutout, your clear plastic cup, paint brush and school glue.
  • Squirt some school glue INSIDE the plastic cup and smear it around & all over, with the paint brush. No spot should be left “un-sticky.”
  • Now place your gravestone cutout inside the cup, on top of the glue, face down {this way you can see the gravestone from the outside.} Take your cup and now look at it from the outside. If need be, move your gravestone to the perfect position or add more glue on top so it sticks. Set aside.
  • Grab your orange and yellow tissue paper & scissors. Cut out several small squares from each.
  • In a mosaic design, lay your tissue paper squares INSIDE the plastic cup, on top of the glue. Repeat until the inside is completely covered {it doesn’t need to be perfect!} Add more glue and tissue paper if need be to complete your look.
  • Once done, set it all aside to let it dry completely {usually overnight.}
  • To display your Glowing Gravestone creation, place your lit tealight inside the finished cup and admire the glow from within!
