This “My Lil Pumpkin Paper Keepsake” post includes a w/free printable template to get you started on making this fall season extra crafty and memorable!
My Lil Pumpkin – Custom Fall Keepsake Printable
I’m constantly thinking of ways, for my readers to get some craft time in with their children AND make some awesome keepsakes along the way, as well.
You guys know how much I love working with popsicle sticks and paper plates BUT those kid craft tutorials don’t exactly store very well afterwards. Those crafts are great and all {not to toot my own horn but they are AWESOME to keep the kids busy throughout the seasons} BUT I want to encourage YOU to make something that you can store & look back on in the coming years.
That’s why the FREE keepsake printables that I offer on Glued To My Crafts are so great for that very reason! You just download our files, print and add the designated embellishments to bring them to life. Then slip your child’s pieces in a scrapbook or flat storage container, for safekeeping, for years to come!
So whether you use this “my lil pumpkin” paper craft idea at home OR in a classroom setting {hi teacher friends!} we hope the free pumpkin template below comes in handy for you! Just download, print, add your child’s picture in the center, along with tissue paper squares, glitter and contact paper. Then display as is, place in a frame or keep it safely in a scrapbook.
Find the FREE download below! Don’t forget to share pictures with us as well after you complete the craft!!!

PAIR YOUR PAPER PUMPKIN FRAME CRAFT WITH —> Popsicle Stick Pumpkin – Kid Craft
Paper My Lil Pumpkin – Kid Craft Supplies:
- Free Pumpkin Design {download HERE}
- White Cardstock
- Color Printer
- Scissors
- Adhesive like tape, glue stick
- Your Child’s Picture {a 4×6 or smaller}
- Clear Contact Paper {affiliate link}
- Orange Tissue Paper
- Fall Colored Glitter
Directions:
- First download and print the free pumpkin file above. Print it in color on simple white cardstock. You only need one print per pumpkin craft.
- Using scissors, trim out the oval shape from the center of pumpkin printable. Just keep in mind, you need to puncture a small hole in the center of the printable THEN cut the oval out. Don’t cut through the pumpkin design. Discard excess paper and set the pumpkin printable aside.
- Grab your clear contact paper. Cut off TWO sheets that are larger than the pumpkin printable.
- Remove the backing off of one contact paper piece. Lay it on a flat surface but with the sticky side UP.
- Now lay your pumpkin printable on the contact paper, face down.
- Grab your child’s picture. Trim it down so it fits inside the oval shape but is small enough so you can place some tissue paper around it and still see it on the other side {see our image for example!}
- Lay the picture on the contact paper {in the center of the cutout} face down.
- Grab the glitter. Sprinkle a small amount inside the cutout. Spread it around with your fingers.
- Now grab your orange tissue paper and cut out several squares.
- Lay them on the contact paper {in the center of the cutout} in a mosaic design. Make sure every spot is covered.
- Finally – grab the second sheet of contact paper and peel off the backing. Lay it on top of the FIRST sheet of contact paper. Press your hands around so the two pieces stick together nicely. You want everything to be nice and smooth.
- The last step and the finishing touch for this “My LIl Pumpkin picture frame craft” – take your scissors and trim off the excess contact paper around the printable.
- Now you are ready to display it proudly for all to see!
