Beat the boredom blues this summer with our DIY Fruit Themed Bowling Game made from cardboard tubes, craft paint AND a little imagination!
Fruit Bowling Game From Cardboard Tubes
Recently, in hopes of killing some time this summer break with minimal supplies and money, I came up with this “Fruit Themed Bowling Game.”
It was just a quick fruit themed craft that I threw together one morning on my craft table and from there we played, played and played some more.
Since I already had the tan craft tubes in my stash, it didn’t cost me anything out of the ordinary. The craft tubes I purchased from Michaels a few months back but you can upcycle toilet/kitchen paper rolls as well!

THE SUPPLIES & DIRECTIONS:
- To recreate this inexpensive homemade game, use my pictures for an example. You will need NINE craft tubes, as well as a small “bowling” ball to complete your game {the wooden ball I also purchased at Michaels from the wood craft aisle.}
- For our set, I went with pineapples, kiwis and watermelon for the game. You can of course change it up with any “fruit design” you like. Just use your imagination to make them come to life!
- All I did was paint the craft tubes and added touches to complete the fruit. Black marker marks for the “seeds” of the watermelon, white crayon center for the kiwi and green tissue paper for the pineapple tops. I can’t say it enough – it’s really easy!

So what do you think? Super fun, right?! And when you are done, because of the size of the craft tubes, throw all the pieces in a large ziplock bag and call it a day for easy storage!
Be sure to check back on Glued To My Crafts in the coming days {and weeks} because I have few more DIY game ideas to make this summer, coming soon! We are upcycling and hoping to inspire you along the way!!! Till then – check out our Smashin Ice Fun post for a fun summer idea we did a couple years back! It’s another idea that doesn’t take much effort or money!
