Puffy paint – a fun, texture paint that is easy to make and dries in a puffy consistency!
Patriotic Puffy Paint Cupcake Supplies:
* Free Printable {download HERE}
* Thick White Cardstock
* Color Printer
* White Shaving Cream
* White School Glue
* Blue Craft Paint
* Small Mixing Bowl
* Foam Paint Brush
* Glitter Cardstock
* Glitter
* METAL COOKIE SHEET
optional – rhinestones, patriotic confetti, sequins etc.
Directions:
* First download and print the FREE PATRIOTIC CUPCAKE PRINTABLE above. You will want to print this file in color on thick cardstock and print one printable per child.
* Now you are ready to make your puffy paint! Place equal amounts of shaving cream and glue in a small dish. Mix together. Now add a drop of blue {or red} craft paint and mix until you have a shade of blue you like {remember, your puffy paint will also be a shade darker when completely dried}
* Once you have the consistency and color you like, have children “paint” the top of their cupcake, in the provided printable. They will want to stay within the lines.
* After children are done with the puffy paint step, have them add glitter for the “sprinkles” on top of the wet mixture. Then have them finish off by shaking off the excess glitter.
* At this point in time, they should also cut out a candle {or two} out of cardstock and place it on top of the wet mixture, so it dries in place.
* Then set aside the cupcake masterpieces to let them dry completely before displaying proudly! I HIGHLY SUGGEST PLACING THIS IN AN UNDISTURBED AREA WITH A METAL COOKIE SHEET UNDERNEATH. LEARN FROM ME – THE PUFFY PAINT CAN LEAVE A “WETNESS” BEHIND {ON THE BACK} AS IT DRIES!
Don’t let the crafty patriotic fun stop here!
