DIY Wooden Dandelion Gift Tags For Kids To Make
These days, Glued To My Crafts is built off of tutorials, that are inspired by other crafts we have done. Let me explain that a little bit more.
Like I always tell my husband, it’s like a domino effect in my brain.
Once I come up with one idea, it spins into another. Then another… until I’m pretty much sick of a theme or technique.
If you have been a long time reader of mine, you might have noticed that with paper plates, popsicle sticks and even thumbprint crafts. I tend to go overboard with an idea sometimes…
Every time I say “this is enough – no more!” another idea along the same lines, comes along…maybe you can relate?
A few years back, an idea called Thumbprint Dandelion came along on this very website.
The rest is HISTORY!
That idea is probably by far, my most popular post to date {besides our DIY mugs from the very beginning.}
Back then, I didn’t know how popular that idea would really be. Kinda thankful I didn’t go with my gut feeling back then, because I honestly was about to scratch the whole idea when it first crossed my mind.
Anyways – long story short. I recently starting thinking about that very blog post again, when I came up with this Wooden Dandelion Gift Tag idea. Wam bam – here I am, sharing my details about it.
And no worries – no Picasso skills needed for this DIY! Keep scrolling to see how I pulled it together with just THREE simple steps. #gluedtomycrafts
Wooden Dandelion Gift Tag Craft Supplies:
- Wooden Gift Tags – one per gift {I found mine at Michaels or you can use this affiliate link}
- Thin Tip Black Sharpie Marker
- Tulip Puffy Paint {affiliate link}
- Pretty Ribbon
- Scissors
Directions:
- I used my dandelion printable for an example of what to draw, but your first step is to freestyle a dandelion on the wooden gift tag with your black Sharpie marker. Start with a circle somewhere in the center of the gift tag and go from there. Just keep in mind, you will need multiple lines to make dots on AND the size of your dandelion needs to be somewhat big as well. You will want the dandelion to be the focal point of your gift tag. If you have space, add “make a wish” somewhere on the tag as well.
- Once you have your design down on the gift tag, grab your tulip puffy paint. Make small dots of paint, on the tips of the dandelion, as well as in the center.
- When you are done with that step, add any other crafty embellishments you see fit before setting aside to let it dry completely.
- Ready to gift? Add a ribbon through the hole of the gift tag and attach to your gifts with ease!
