YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT! You can use paper plates to make awesome handmade emoji-themed valentines to pass out to friends, classmates and even family this upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday!
Who says you have to go the traditional route? Handmade is handmade and with paper plates being SUPER CHEAP, you are not only are you NOT breaking the bank, you are also DYing some great pieces that will stand out from the crowd as well!
Using a simple PAPER PLATE to create the iconic shape of an emoji face and some heart shaped candies for the eyes, this DIY craft is super simple, really inexpensive but “oh so fun!”
These DIY pieces are super simple to make and sure to be loved by the lucky receivers! We are talking easy supplies and less than ten minutes to pull together! Then give away for a Valentine’s Day or just because!!!

Paper Plate Emoji Valentines Supplies:
- Small White Paper Plates – one per emoji valentine
- Yellow Craft Paint
- Paint Brush
- Pink/Black Fabric Puffy Paint or Craft Paint w/paint brush
- Large Glue Dots
- Red Heart Shaped Chocolate Candies – one per emoji valentine
- Markers
Directions:
- First things first – paint your paper plates completely yellow. You will want ONE painted plate per valentine.
- Next grab your choice of craft paint. Draw on a smiley face on each plate.
- When done, set aside to let them dry completely.
- When ready to gift your Emoji Valentines, simply add TWO glue dots to your paper plate and attach your chocolate heart on top for the eyes. Repeat for each valentine.
- Then add other embellishments you see fit. Don’t forget to write a message on the back of the plates with a marker.
- Finally gift away!
