Shamrock Handprint Craft Idea
One thing you will NEVER hear me say is “I’m so glad I didn’t capture those little handprints in time.” Cause clearly – if you have been a long time of follower of Glued To My Crafts, you already know that keepsake ideas are one of my favorite things to share!
So when I was going through my personal scrapbooks the other day {actually my son pulled them out, which I thought was awesome!} I came across this Handprint Shamrock piece we made together in 2013.
Crazy to think – but I never shared this idea on Glued To My Crafts {say what?!} So I’m remedying that today and hopefully sparking some “lucky” interest in you to recreate in March!
Fun fact – in our home, we aren’t big celebrators of St Patrick’s Day {I’m actually half German and there is no Irish blood line} but this was just a small and simple craft we did together to mark the occasion during the month. My son at the time was only two years old and I vaguely remember it being pretty simple {just have patience my friends!}
Anyways – long story short, if this is something you would like to create with your child this month, keep scrolling for a super quick craft tutorial from us! Then when you recreate it with your little one, come share pictures of it by tagging us on Instagram so we can admire it from a far! I can’t wait to see their painted shamrocks in action! Happy crafting, my friends! #gluedtomycrafts

CRAFT SUPPLIES:Â
- To recreate your own Shamrock Keepsake – you will need yellow/green cardstock paper, green craft paint, paint brushes, scissors, adhesive, baby wipes and little hands {my son was a little over the age of two but this craft is perfect for older children too!}
DIRECTIONS:
- To start, simply paint your child’s hand completely green and stamp it on some yellow cardstock. Repeat these type of handprints until you have three or four prints for your shamrock.
- Set aside your piece to let it dry completely. Clean up excess paint off hands, with baby wipes.
- Once the handprints are dry, trim out each paper handprint with scissors.
- Now for the assemble part. Glue your four handprints onto another sheet of cardstock, in a shamrock formation. Take some green craft paint and paint a stem to complete the look. Add a cardstock heart to the center if desired.
- Then display as is or slip into a scrapbook to enjoy for years to come! Don’t forget to write their age, date and name somewhere on the keepsake so you remember when it was made!
