Create heart felt gifts for the peeps you love this Easter season! Dollar Tree, Michaels and even Target, have these large plastic eggs that can be easily transformed and “made better” with just a few simple steps!
Sweet and simple describes today’s Decorative Bunny Gift Containers tutorial!!! #gluedtomycrafts
So today’s “bunny gift container” tutorial is NOT at all elaborate. It’s just a matter of pulling out the super glue and a few simple craft materials. You even don’t need to an expert crafter for this DIY {although I suggest this be an adult only craft!}
Like I mentioned above, these large plastic eggs can be typically found at Dollar Tree, Michaels and Target this time of year. I’m pretty sure I’ve even seen them at Walmart before. They are usually in a single pack, one egg, and around $1 each. I got my three at Michaels for $1 and with a good coupon, it was actually less! I believe they had five different colors to choose from, so there’s a little bit for everyone!
What’s nice about these plastic eggs, is that they open up differently than the smaller ones and are clear on one side so you can see the contents. Plus they lay flat on the back, unlike other plastic eggs.
As I was holding them in the store and trying to think of a way to get “crafty” with it, I instantly saw a bunny. With a few transformation tricks, here we are today!

THE SUPPLIES:
To make your eggs “bunny-tastic” simply grab some white/pink craft felt, medium sized pink pom poms, large wiggle eyes and pipe cleaners. You will also need your trusty scissors and some super glue, as well as some fun Easter fillers for when you are done!
THE DIRECTIONS:
I first started by cutting out the bunny ears from the craft felt. You will need two ears per container. Then I hot glued them to the back of the eggs.
Next was the facial embellishments. One single pom pom became the nose and one pipe cleaner, cut into pieces, became the whiskers. The wiggle eyes are self-extramatory ;-)
Once I had all my pieces in place, I set it all aside to let it dry completely. Then I filled my containers with colorful crinkle paper and sweet treats. Now they are ready for gifting!!!
A playful handcrafted piece is always sure to be loved by the lucky receiver! Be sure to also check out these fabulous past posts on Glued To My Crafts!
