Celebrate the LOVESTRUCK holiday in style, with today’s Mixed Media Valentine’s Day Party Hats kid craft tutorial!!! #gluedtomycrafts
It all started with some adorable and really festive pom pom garland I found at my local Walmart store {since I gave up Michaels for a few months, for a New Year’s Resolution, it’s amazing all the fun things I’m finding at Walmart instead – ha!}
Adding in some inexpensive supplies like wooden popsicle sticks, festive Valentine’s Day scrapbook paper and craft paint into the mix, I came up with this grand idea! You too can pull this idea with your child together in no time and show them off as festive decor as well! Maybe even attach them to some wooden stakes for a photo prop!
So what are waiting for? Celebrate BIG with our simple craft today! Happy crafting, my friends!!!
Valentine’s Day Party Hat Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {3 per party hat}
* School Glue
* Craft Paint
* Paint Brush
* Festive Scrapbook Paper {think fun red/pink designs or glitter paper}
* Scissors
* Glitter Glue
* Pom Pom Ribbon
Directions:
* Grab your three popsicle sticks and glue them together to look like a triangle. Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each hat.
* Once dry, go ahead and paint your newly made shape however you like {or leave as is!}
* Next, go ahead and trace the popsicle stick design on some scrapbook paper, to make the inner part of the hat {trim it down slightly to be a smaller triangle than your popsicle sticks} Set aside.
* Grab the scrapbook paper cutout and glue it onto the triangular design.
* To finish off the Mixed Media Valentine’s Day Party Hats – have children add a small strip of pom pom ribbon to the bottom of their hat. Then allow them decorate their hats however they like. Get the glitter out, rhinestones and even some feathers for a festive party look! Once everything is glued down, set aside to let it ALL dry completely before displaying proudly!
