Make a HUGE splash this upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday by giving your classmates these unique hippo Valentine’s Day cards with surprise candies!
Craft Supplies:
- Paper Trimmer
- Small Pink Heart Doilies – one per hippo card
- Cardstock Paper {I used pink, white and purple}
- Tape Runner Adhesive/Glue Stick
- Basic Craft Scissors
- Large Glue Dots
- Large Wiggle Eyes – two per hippo valentine card
- Chocolate Heart Candies – two per hippo card
Directions:
- First things first – use adhesive to adhere your pink paper heart doily to the center of a single sheet of cardstock. You will want your heart to be upside down to give the look of the face of the hippo.
- Next use a large glue dot to add TWO heart chocolates as the nostrils of the hippo.
- Next, take some cardstock and trim out two small ears from pink cardstock and adhere them to the card front.
- Finish off by adding on the googly eyes to the paper doily.
- Now the final step – take your paper trimmer and NOW trim down your card to create the valentine. The size of yours may depend on how big you made your hippo’s. I do not suggest these to go in an envelope but I think you knew that already 🙂 Add other embellishments you see fit when done trimming.
- Finally – it’s time to your creation gift away!
