Pete The Cat Santa Craft Idea For Story Time

Celebrate the Christmas season and this awesome {& groovy} time of year, with today’s easy Paper Plate Santa Cat craft idea!

Not only is it super simple and fun for ALL ages BUT this DIY won’t break the holiday budget either! Not to mention, you can pair it nicely with some story time in the classroom, at home or even at your local library!

So don’t delay – let your child’s festive imagination go wild, while they create this adorable Christmas themed Pete The Cat Santa craft idea today!!! Then be sure to read the awesome and festive book together in celebration of your crafty paper plate Christmas cat masterpiece!

Paper Plate Pete The Cat Santa - Kid Craft

Pete The Cat Santa Craft

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we’re here to help make it even more special! Check out this kid friendly craft idea that is perfect for celebrating Christmas.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Blue Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Cardstock Paper {blue/red/white/yellow}
  • School Glue
  • Stapler
  • Markers

Directions:

  • First cut your paper plate in half. Reserve one half for a rainy day and use the other for today’s craft {perhaps for our unicorn tutorial!}
  • Next cut out the center of your paper plate half, leaving the rim {aka – Pete The Cat’s body.}
  • Grab your blue paint. Paint the paper plate rim piece.
  • When done painting, set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab your red, white, yellow and blue cardstock.
  • Cut out a head, eyes, tail and Santa hat for Pete.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Santa Pete The Cat, have children staple/glue their cardstock pieces to the paper plate to bring him to life. At this point in time you can also add other embellishments you see fit. Maybe some glitter or stickers?!
  • Then display your Santa cat piece proudly for all to see!!!

Above is another version of a “Pete The Cat Santa” craft idea using a paper plate.

Simply cut the paper plate in a football shape and cover it in blue tissue paper instead!
