It all started with a trip to Michaels {as it always does around here!}

Then a few days later – I had some SUPER SIMPLE candy filled ornaments to hand out to friends and family with ease!!! #gluedtomycrafts

When I came across these small clear Christmas bulb shaped plastic ornaments at Michaels, I was pretty excited.

I have seen the circular ones, time and time again, pretty much everywhere but these smaller shaped christmas light ones were different and in my eyes, UNIQUE.

So in the cart they went {life of a crafter!}

But now what?

I have found these awesome ornaments and I’ll be damned if they just “sit” in my craft stash to only reappear next year in hopes of being “used” in some shape or form.

So I brainstormed and BAM – Santa and Rudolph & his friends were born and now I have some adorable ornament pieces to gift at random throughout the season. You know – for those casual “friends” and moments where you don’t want to give a big lavish gift but still acknowledge the receiver. Tie it on a card envelope or even give it as is. It’s just a small gesture, that will probably go a long way {and doubles as an ornament for the tree as well!}

So how did I pull it together? Well first – WASH THE ORNAMENTS! Simply remove the metal topper and soak your pieces in some soapy water. Rinse clean and let them air dry completely.

Next you will need RED and BROWN M&M’s. I found some smaller bags at Target but here is an affiliate link {brown & red} to get your started. You’re welcome 😉

Once you have the candy, simply fill your ornaments till they are full. Red for Santa and brown for Rudolph. Put the topper back on your ornament.

Now is for the embellishments. I used Tulip Puffy Paint {affiliate link on Amazon} to decorate mine but you can also use any kind of paint you have on hand.

When done, let them dry completely before adding some ribbon on the top. Then gift away!

Santa Bulb Ornament – black paint in the center for Santa’s belt and hot glue some gold scrapbook paper on it for the buckle.

Reindeer Bulb Ornament – add red paint for the nose on the tip, hot glue some wiggle eyes in the center and use gold pipe cleaners bent around the ornament for antlers.
