Typical crafter – you are “cleaning” out your craft stuff when you come across leftover supplies from a previous idea, that eventually leads you to another craft! SCORE!
Dear husband. This is why I hoard stuff ;-)
Anyways – long story short. This past summer I made {and shared on Glued To My Crafts} some adorable Pineapple Friends that were created from some pill shaped wood pieces I picked up at Michaels {in the kid craft aisle next to the popsicle sticks!}
Since I had a few leftover pieces, I decided to experiment and here is the end result – Sequined Indian Corn!
Super simple for kids to recreate with a few simple steps AND they make for awesome decor pieces to be used this upcoming fall season as well. You could even add ribbon to back to turn them into gift tags if desired. I’m thinking I’m going to turn mine into a festive banner but we’ll see!
I just hope my little crafty post inspires you! Happy crafting, my friends!!!
Sequined Indian Corn Supplies:
* Wide Craft Sticks
* Small Orange/Yellow/Brown Sequins
* Brown Glitter
* Yellow Craft Paint
* Paint Brush
* Brown Cardstock
* Scissors
* School Glue
Directions:
* First you will want to paint your wood shape completely yellow. Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each indian corn piece you want to make.
* Now it’s time for the sparkle! Have children put a good amount of glue ALL over the front of the wood piece.
* Next have them sprinkle sequins and glitter
on top of the glue until it’s completely covered. Set aside to let it dry.
* Now grab your brown cardstock. Cut out a “tassel” to be placed on the top of the corn.
* To finish off your Indian Corn – shake off the excess sequins and glue on your cardstock piece to the back. Then display proudly!!!
