Paper Plate Monster Truck – Kid Craft Tutorial
We are hoping to rev up your crafty engines, with our latest paper plate kid craft tutorial! Today I bring YOU another kid friendly craft tutorial centered around my son’s favorite theme as of late – MONSTER TRUCKS!
Inspired by my son and his love of Monster Jam & anything with big wheels, today I’m sharing this monster truck kid craft idea that is made out of paper plates, craft paint and a little cardstock!
It’s super easy, completely customizable and cheap! Since it requires little to no prep, you are sure to have a rockin’ good time AND create some one-of-a-kind wheels that any kid will want to show off!
So what are you waiting for? Go build your own custom monster truck and get ready to “race” it into first place with your own crafty spirit! You can find ALL the details you need to know, in the full tutorial below!
Happy crafting, my friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your painted paper plate monster trucks on our Facebook page to admire from a far! I can’t wait to see what colors and paper elements you add to yours! #gluedtomycrafts
Monster Truck Craft Supplies:
* Large Paper Plates {one per monster truck craft}
* Small Paper Plates {two per monster truck craft}
* Craft Paint – any colors you like!
* Gray or Black Craft Paint
* Foam Paint Brushes
* Basic Craft Scissors
* School Glue
* Hand-Held Office Stapler
* Cardstock {most important white and a color for your flag!}
optional – small stickers, glitter, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
* First cut your paper plate in half. Straight up the center to make TWO equal pieces. This will make TWO monster trucks.
* Go ahead and cut out small sections of your paper plate half to give a more defined “truck” look/create the trunk/hood. See my picture for example.
* Next you will want to paint your paper plate half. Go crazy on the colors and make it your own!
* Set it aside.
* Now grab your two smaller paper plates.
* Go ahead and paint them gray and/or black for the monster truck tires.
* Set those aside to let them dry with the larger paper plate piece you painted earlier.
* Next up – grab all your paper pieces and scissors.
* Cut out a window, a half circle light and a flag for your monster truck.
* To finish off the Paper Plate Monster Truck, use the stapler to staple the paper plate wheels and flag pieces to the paper plate truck body. Use the school glue to add the cardstock window and light to your piece to finish off the look.
* Then set aside to let it dry COMPLETELY before displaying proudly!
So that’s it!!! Easy peasy just how we like it on our blog! We hope this quick post inspires you!!!
