Tri-Colored Footprint Butterfly Keepsake – Kid Craft
Flying by with another idea that is perfect to make in honor of spring! Today’s Footprint Butterfly Keepsake idea is super simple, really inexpensive AND a great excuse to “lock” those sweet little footprints forever in time! Don’t forget – you can also frame this idea and make an awesome gift for the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday!
All you need to complete this sweet butterfly keepsake idea, is some craft paint, paint brushes and cardstock.
To create the butterfly wings, first paint both of your child’s feet with the craft paint and press them in the center of a single sheet of cardstock {for the tri-color look, use three different shades of paint all at once.} Remove excess paint from feet with baby wipes.
Once the footprints are down and you have the look you like, use markers and/or craft paint to paint/draw in the body of the butterfly in the center {or use cardstock embellishments instead.} Then add your own flair by adding glitter, rhinestones, wiggle eyes etc. to really make it sparkle and have that one-of-a-kind look!
And that’s it! Easy peasy – just how we like it on Glued To My Crafts! Be sure to also check out our Handprint Roundup post for tons of other keepsake ideas! All of which can be easily turned into gifts within minutes!!!
