You guys… I have a confession to make. Puffy paint is quickly becoming one of my favorite craft mediums to work with.
Ahhh – that feels good to get off my chest ;-)
And although puffy paint is traditionally associated with decorating shirts, I’m stepping outside the box and quickly incorporating it into our kid craft tutorials!!! YAY!!!
Honestly, it’s so easy to work with AND kids will love the hands-on control they will have with it. Take for example this Puffy Paint Craft Stick Bee kid craft idea. Kids can make stripes on their bees with ease AND make an awesome texture piece within minutes. It’s a must-do this spring season!
So get to it! Find all the crafty details below! Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
Craft Stick Bee Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {9 per bee craft}
* School Glue
* White/Black/Yellow Puffy Craft Paint {affiliate link}
* 6 Wooden Clothespins
* Black Cardstock
* Scissors
optional embellishments like glitter, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
* First assemble the base of your bee by gluing your NINE popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across } Set aside to let it dry completely.
* Once dry, have children paint each popsicle stick piece {in a rotating pattern} yellow and black to represent the stripes on the bee. Don’t forget to do the white on the clothespin wings! Again, set all aside to let it dry completely.
* Now grab your cardstock and cut out a half moon shape with antennas for the head of the bee.
* To finish off the Craft Stick Bee craft, glue your cardstock piece in place on the popsicle stick shape and pinch the clothespin “wings” to the sides.
* Then add other embellishments {like glitter for a one-of-a-kind look} and display proudly!!!
