Welcome to our Upcycled Bottle Cap Superhero Puppets kid craft tutorial!!!
As a craft blogger, sometimes the crafty juices just stop flowing. Even when I hit a rut, every once in awhile, it feels good to get back to the basics.
That’s why I usually like to give myself some “self-care” by regrouping at my favorite craft store, Michaels. It’s the best way for me to “step outside the box” and brainstorm what’s next.
As as I was recently walking the beautiful, long aisles – I came across some loose bottle caps for sale. I haven’t crafted with them before, nor shared anything on Glued To My Crafts with them so I figured it was time to change it up!
Hence how today’s Bottle Cap Superhero Puppet kid craft idea came to life! Perfect for the little crime-fighting boys {and girls} in your life! Plus they double as awesome pretend play pieces. So craft time goes beyond the kitchen table as well!!!
I hope my idea makes you step outside the box as well and inspires you too! You can find all the details for these superheroes made from bottle caps below! Happy crafting, my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of them on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram so we can admire your hard work! #gluedtomycrafts
Bottle Cap Superhero Craft Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {one per superhero puppet}
* Craft Bottle Caps {affiliate link}
* Craft Paint – any color you like!
* Paint Brushes
* Craft Felt – any color you like!
* Small Wiggle Eyes
* School Glue
* Kid Friendly Scissors
Directions:
* First have children paint their popsicle sticks and bottle caps however they like! The popsicle stick will be the body, while the bottle cap the face. One of each, per craft.
* While they are working on that – cut out some triangles from the craft felt for a superhero cape and a small rectangle for the mask.
* To finish off the Bottle Cap Superheroes – simply glue the bottle cap face to the popsicle stick piece.
* Then add on the “cape” to the back and felt mask with wiggle eyes to the bottle cap portion.
* Follow that up by adding other embellishments you see fit {like glitter, rhinestones etc} before setting aside to let it dry completely.
