Burlap & Rhinestone Christmas Tree Craft Idea

We are going to get the kids extra excited for the festive season ahead with our easy Burlap Fabric Christmas Trees tutorial. Kids will love making and decorating their own tree, while moms {and dads} will enjoy the beautiful end result. {Displayed proudly in their home – of course!} So whether you make them to as simple decor, as a Christmas ornament or even as a special gift tag – this idea is going to be a hit!

Get the kids excited for the season with our Burlap Christmas Trees tutorial. They will love decorating their own mini tree with ease!
Craft Supplies:
- Burlap Triangles
- Green Craft Paint
- Small Paper Plate
- Foam Paint Brush
- Craft Sequins or Rhinestones
- School Glue
- Brown Cardstock Paper
- Yellow Cardstock Paper
- Craft Scissors
- Hand-Held Office Stapler
Directions:
- First you will want to cut out of the cardstock paper, the “tree trunk” and the “star” of the Christmas tree. The trunk is done by cutting a small rectangle from the brown cardstock for the bottom of the tree, while the star will go on the top of the craft.
- Set those aside till later.
- Now you are ready for paint! squirt your craft paint on the paper plate.
- Using a foam paint brush, have your child paint one side of the canvas triangle completely green.
- Repeat for each tree you want to make today.
- The finishing touch of the Burlap Christmas Trees, is to decorate them! Using the school glue and colorful sequins, have your child decorate the front of their tree however they like. There are no real rules to this step – just have fun for it!
- Follow up the decorating by stapling the paper pieces from the first step, onto the burlap trees. The star at the top and the trunk at the bottom.
- Once everything is in place and looks good, set aside the finished pieces to let them dry completely before displaying proudly!
- You can easily turn these finished burlap tree craft pieces into gift tags or Christmas ornaments by hot gluing string to the back!
