Creative Leaf Santa Beard Craft For Kids To Make This Christmas
Ho Ho Ho! Coming by with another kid friendly craft to add to the Glued To My Crafts Blog holiday archives! This time I’ve titled it Creative Leaf Santa Beard Craft For Kids To Make This Christmas and it’s just that – a leaf we used as the base of Santa’s face!
With just some simple cheap Dollar Tree plastic leaves leftover from fall, some cardstock paper and a paper plate – I was able to pull together this customizable Leaf Bearded Santa kid craft together for my lil man in no time!
It’s super easy to assemble and really inexpensive too! Although you could easily use real leaves from your own backyard for this craft idea, I felt like the plastic leaves were our best bet {especially for long-term decorations.} But don’t let me dictate your craftiness! Whichever direction you go – I hope this Santa with a leaf beard craft tutorial inspires you regardless!

Bearded Santa Craft Supplies:
- Small Paper Plate {one per Santa craft}
- Kid Friendly Paper Craft Scissors
- Skin Tone Craft Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
- Black Colored Cardstock Paper
- Red Colored Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Plastic Leaves or Dried Leaves From Outside
- Thick Tacky Glue
- Hand-Held Office Stapler
- Small Wiggle Eyes {two per Santa craft}
Directions:
- First things first – grab your small paper plate and scissors.
- Cut the paper plate, straight down the center, into TWO equal halves.
- Reserve one half for today’s Santa craft and save the other for a rainy day.
- Now grab your skin tone craft paint and foam paint brush.
- Squirt some paint in the middle of the paper plate half and move it around with the foam paint brush, until the paper plate is completely covered.
- When done painting, set aside the paper plate to allow it to dry completely.
- Now grab your black cardstock and the scissors again.
- Fold the black cardstock paper in half and open it back up.
- Use scissors to again to cut straight up the center, to create two equal pieces.
- Reserve one black paper piece for today’s craft and save the other for another day.
- Now grab your plastic leaves and stapler.
- One by one, staple your plastic leaves {or glue them} all over the black piece of cardstock paper.
- When done with this step, set it aside till later.
- Now grab your red and white cardstock paper.
- Cut out a large Santa hat, Santa’s nose and a few white elements for his cap.
- Once you have all your paper pieces cut out and the paper plate is dry to touch, it’s time to assemble your craft! Go ahead and grab all your paper pieces, the glue, wiggle eyes and stapler.
- Start off by stapling the painted paper plate half to the top of the black cardstock with the leaves all over it.
- Follow that up by adding the hat on top of that, then the nose and of course, the small wiggles eyes so he can see.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit {maybe some glitter or some holiday stickers for a festive look.}
- Then display your custom one-of-a-kind paper and decorative leaf Santa piece proudly for all to see!

Make It Your Own:
- For added step, you can ALWAYS paint your decorative leaves WHITE before you staple and/or glue them to your black piece of cardstock paper. This way it REALLY looks like Santa’s beard afterwards!
