I just love a good paper plate craft. Don’t you?!

In fact – a good portion of our 2,000+ tutorials use paper plates 🙂 You can’t beat the inexpensive price tag and they are typically so simple to recreate as well. You can literally cut and cover a paper plate in paint and/or tissue paper, to make nearly anything {even monster sized trucks and colorful trolls!}

Not only is this owl themed kid craft a great way to pass the time – but it’s also really easy and great for the younger children in your home to recreate! You could easily change up the colors to also reflect a theme, holiday or event {like red and pink for an adorable Valentine’s Day theme!}

Super Easy Owl Craft Supplies:

* Large Paper Plate – one per owl craft
* School Glue
* Your Choice of Color Tissue Paper
* Your Choice of Color Cardstock Paper {two-three different colors}
* Orange Colored Cardstock Paper
* Large Scallop Paper Punch {affiliate link on Amazon}
* Basic Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
optional materials – glitter glue, small stickers, rhinestones etc.

The Simple Directions:

* First have your child pick their color tissue paper color and cut it into small squares.
* Drizzle a good amount of glue ALL over the paper plate, really making sure you get every inch covered.
* Next have them place the tissue paper squares on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
* To finish off the Paper Plate Owl Kid Craft – cut out some owl features from the cardstock {think scallop eyes, triangle beak, triangle ears, heart shaped feet etc} and glue those pieces to the front of the paper plate, along with any other embellishments you see fit.
* Allow everything to dry completely and display proudly for all to see!
