A HUGE thank you to Cardstore.com for sponsoring today’s Ninja Turtle Birthday Party post. Let’s party DUDE!
It’s hard to believe but in a few short weeks I’ll have a five year old. Seriously – where is the time going?!
To prepare for the big milestone, recently I started pulling out all my party supplies to start planning and staging the upcoming BIG day.
Thankfully with the help of Cardstore.com and with party supplies from American Greetings, I was able to pull it all together with ease. Just take a look below to see what I’m talking about. I was even able to add some crafty touches of my own to really make it stand out. I have a feeling this birthday party is going to be a “COWABUNGA” good time!
Let’s start with the PARTY INVITES. Although we live in a very digital world right now, I still think paper invites are very important and the first thing to add to your to-do list {it’s that personal touch that goes a long way!}
At the moment, my son really loves the Ninja Turtles {typical BOY!} So when we saw these invites on the Cardstore.com website, the wheels started spinning and the birthday party theme really started to come together nicely.
TIP ALERT – if you have extra invites after mailing/handing them out, DON’T THROW THEM OUT! Save them and easily turn them into cupcake toppers by using a large circle paper punch and some paper straws. It’s like double duty and they are one-of-a-kind too {psst – this idea is also great for table scatter and/or gift tags for the party!}
Now to the PARTY FAVORS. By using our past slime recipe {found HERE} and some little plastic containers I decorated with cardstock and wiggle eyes, I was able to make my own DIY Ninja Turtle party favors. It’s really inexpensive to make in bulk AND it’s something fun that the kids can play with during and of course, after the party!
Here are some other fun party favors I made for the big day. I just filled clear gift bags with some treats and little trinkets, topped off with a Ninja Turtle themed pin to tie it all together.
TABLE DECOR AND STORAGE – To keep the silverware and other little things in place, I just grabbed some small green metal buckets and decorated them with a strip of felt to give the look of the Ninja Turtles. With this little tip, not only is everything in one place BUT it makes for simple table decor as well {plus after the party, I can easily use these for other events or storage!!}
BIRTHDAY KEEPSAKE IDEA – Of course we had to make a special handprint keepsake to mark the occasion AND it doubles as party decor as well! All you need is a canvas, paint and some wiggle eyes!
THANK YOU CARDS – don’t forget, thank you cards are a MUST after ANY party! Again paper cards are the way to go and I just LOVE these personalized cards I ordered from Cardstore.
My favorite part was that I was able to add my own picture to the front to really customize it. Wouldn’t this be a fun idea with a group shot from the big day? This way it doubles as a thank you card AND a small keepsake for the attendees!
So there you go – just a small glimpse into what is I’m sure to be a good birthday! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see the BIG day in action!
