I’ve shared quite a few Potato Stamped Kid Crafts on the blog in the past and quite frankly they are becoming my favorite kid craft to date. Mainly because they take very little effort from me {YAY} and they don’t require fancy materials either {double YAY!}

With that being said, today’s Potato Stamped Ornaments are they perfect excuse to get the kids crafty while you make dinner in the kitchen tonight. Just set a whole potato aside from your dinner plans and set up shop on the dining room table for the kids to get crafty on, while you follow the step-by-step tutorial below. Seriously – you won’t believe how simple and inexpensive this kid craft is!!

Potato Stamped Christmas Ornaments Supplies:

* Large Potato
* Knife {adult supervision!}
* Paper Plate
* Various Colors of Craft Paint
* Cardstock {white is best!}
* Green Sharpie Marker
* Glitter Glue
optional – rhinestones, feathers, pom poms etc.

Directions:

* Adult supervision – first cut your potato in half. You will only need need one half for this craft but no worries – because I have some other ideas on my blog for the other half, you can craft up!
* Now squirt your various paints on the paper plate.
* Have children dip one half of the potato into the paint {smear it around} then stamp it on a single sheet of cardstock. Repeat for every ornament they want to make on the cardstock.
* To finish off the Potato Stamped Ornaments, have children draw on an ornament hanger with the Sharpie marker, as well as gluing on some other embellishments to give the ornaments that one-of-a-kind character look. Then set it all aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly!
