Bright & Colorful Kool-Aid Liquid Sidewalk Chalk Tutorial
With summer being in full swing, it’s time to start thinking about some creative OUTDOOR craft activities {cause who wants to be stuck indoors ALL summer long!}
Today’s Kool-Aid Liquid Sidewalk Chalk idea is something I’ve actually been doing with Lil Man for a couple years now and it honestly never gets old. It’s just a step-up from regular chalk and allows your child to paint whatever their heart desires on the concrete outside!
This homemade mixture is super easy to pull together on the fly and it honestly doesn’t cost that much either. Plus with the Kool-Aid added in, it smells pretty AMAZING! So what are you waiting for? Grab those supplies and make some up today!!!

Liquid Chalk Supplies:
* Corn Starch
* Kool-Aid Packs in Various Colors
* Warm Tap Water
* Large Muffin Tin
* Measuring Cup
* Various Sizes of Paint Brushes
And of course a great concrete spot, some old clothes and a ton of creativity! I HIGHLY recommend wearing play clothes while painting with this liquid chalk paint just in case it stains!!!
Directions:
The recipe is very simple. You basically mix 1 part corn starch to 1 equal part water in a large measuring cup {making it easy to pour into the muffin tin}
For our 6 slotted muffin tin, I did 3 cups of water with 3 cups of corn starch. This was enough to fill all the slots, as well as having some leftover. Just remember that the chalk mixture will be somewhat thick because of the corn starch.
Keep mixing until the mixture gets runny and cloudy. A small whisk is great to mix the mixture and get rid of the thick clumps. Set aside when done.
Next pour all your Kool-Aid packs into the muffin tin {one packet per slot}
To finish the Kool-Aid Liquid Sidewalk Chalk, simply pour some of the finished liquid into the muffin tin slots and mix until the Kool-Aid is completely dissolved.
Then grab your paint brushes and have children paint their little hearts out on the concrete. Once the liquid chalk paint starts to dry, it makes really bright, vibrant colors on the concrete.
To clean it up afterwards, simply spray off with a hose or wait till a good rain storm comes through!
