Orange & Red Campfire Handprint Art Keepsake

Handprint art is one of the most classic, beloved gifts of all time.

Every mother, father, grandparent or even close friend, will love the gesture of it. Best of all – you don’t have to spend a ton of money to create a one-of-a-kind summer camp piece!

With the change of warm weather just around the corner, I have yet ANOTHER handprint keepsake idea for you all and this one pays tribute to those campfires we will all be sitting around this summer.

It’s the perfect idea for summer/bible camps, a family camping trip, vacation keepsakes or even just to remember those little hands from the best summer EVER. And since you already have the most important part of making this campfire keepsake – a hand – it’s going to be a cinch for you to pull it together!

Handprint Campfire Keepsake

Handprint Campfire Keepsake

Little hands love to make and leave their mark on everything. Today’s camping craft idea is so easy that your child will have a blast doing it!

Craft Supplies:

  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Orange Craft Paint
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paint Brushes
  • Baby Wipes
  • Jumbo Craft Stick
  • School Glue or Glue Stick
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Paper Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First are the painted handprints that look like “flames” on a log.
  • To do this simply pick one of your child’s hand and paint the palm & fingers with the craft paint.
  • Press the painted handprint on the cardstock paper, right in the middle of the page.
  • Repeat this step, if desired, to make multiple handprint flames.
  • Clean off excess craft paint from hands with baby wipes and a quick trip to the sink.
  • Next grab your brown paint and paint some “firewood logs” underneath the frames.
  • To finish off the handprint bonfire keepsake – glue your jumbo popsicle “stick” onto the design, along with the cotton balls to give the look of someone roasting marshmallows.
  • Then let it all dry completely before displaying proudly!
  • You can also write happy camper somewhere on the keepsake, with a Sharpie marker {hint hint!}
