Hi my crafty readers! Are you still looking for creative craft ideas to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your child? Well – today I’m adding another Leprechaun themed kid craft idea to the Glued To My Crafts blog archives and this one is just as easy, fun for all ages and inexpensive like all our past craft tutorials!
The other day I saw a St. Patty’s Day craft post on Pinterest that I absolutely loved.
So piggy-backing off that particular craft idea, I decided to give it my own spin and use a paper plate instead. With all that being said, today I present to you our Paper Paint & Puffy Paint Leprechaun Beard {Kid Craft} and it’s super simple to pull together, especially if you are scrambling for last minute craft ideas!
So what are you waiting for? Let’s grab those craft supplies and get straight to work on crafting up this adorable guy! You can find the full step-by-step tutorial below!
Happy crafting, my dear friends! #gluedtomycrafts
Paper Plate & Puffy Paint Leprechaun Supplies:
* Shaving Cream
* White School Glue
* Food Coloring {I used a mixture of red & yellow to get a shade of orange}
* Paint Brushes
* Small Plastic Bowl
* Large Paper Plate
* Tan Craft Paint
* Stapler
* Green/Black/Yellow Cardstock
* Black Marker Sharpie
Directions:
* First have your child paint their paper plate completely tan. Set aside to let it dry completely.
* Next mix up your puffy paint beard mixture. This is done by placing equal parts of glue & shaving cream in a small bowl. Add a few drops of yellow and red food coloring to get an orange color. Then mix until it’s like thick frosting.
* Using a paint brush, have children place a good layer of “frosting” around the rim of the paper plate {this is his beard} Once done, set that aside to let it dry completely.
* Now grab your scissors and cardstock & trim out a hat for the Leprechaun.
* To finish off the puffy paint bearded Leprechaun craft, simply staple on his hat to the paper plate and draw a face in the center with a Sharpie. Then display proudly!
