Tissue Paper & Paper Plate Duck – Kid Craft Idea For Story Time

Hi my crafty friends! Are you ready for another kid friendly craft tutorial that is centered around one of our favorite children’s books? Well – you are in the right place because this idea is ‘quackin’ good!

Eric Carle is probably one of the most famous children’s book authors out there, with his most recognizable book probably being The Very Hungry Caterpillar. His collage illustrations in his books have always drawn me in and I just love the stories inside as well.

So it comes to no surprise, that today’s kid friendly craft idea is centered around one of his books. I’m going to share with you all how we recently made this Paper Plate Duck Kid Craft that goes along perfectly with the Eric Carle book 10 Rubber Ducks. Not only is our craft super simple and fun but it’s also great for children of all ages to make!

PAIR YOUR DUCK PAPER PLATE CRAFT WITH —> Paper & Chalk Art Duck In Pond Craft For Kids

Paper Plate Duck Craft Supplies:

* Large Paper Plate – one per duck craft
* Yellow Tissue Paper
* Orange Cardstock Paper
* White Cardstock Paper
* Light Blue Cardstock Paper
* School Glue
* Craft Scissors
* Hand-Held Stapler

The Simple Directions:

* First cut your tissue paper into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
* Take your paper plate and put a good amount of glue all over it.
* Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
* While they are working on that, cut out the duck’s facial features from your cardstock. Think two eyes and a large beak.
* To finish off the Paper Plate Duck kid craft – simply glue/staple the cardstock pieces in their designated spots.
* Once done, set it aside to allow it to dry completely.
* Then display proudly for ALL to see!
