Ice Cream Match Game Made With Paper Punches
Although it’s probably too early to start thinking about ice cream in general – I do have to say today’s Ice Cream Match Game craft tutorial is perfect for children to play with all year long and it’s no where near being as messy as the real thing!
Today’s handmade learning game idea is not only great for preschoolers to practice their matching skills but is also quick, easy and inexpensive for mamas to put together on the fly.
We are talking a few dollars and complete customization – especially if you use paper scrapes and embellishments you already have on hand.
So don’t let this fun learning idea melt away! Grab those craft supplies and get to work on “scooping” up this simple ice cream color match game.
And while you’re at it – don’t forget to think of some other ways to add some educational twists and extra fun elements. This game is total customizable {think different colors, adding shapes, numbers, textures, etc.} so it’s really up to you on how elaborate your ice cream game gets.
I just hope I spark some creativity in you today! Happy creating it, my friends! Don’t forget to give us a FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK, so you never miss a new post from us! I can’t wait to “meet” you there! #gluedtomycrafts

Directions:
- Using your paper punches, punch out all your ice cream pieces from the cardstock. You will want two of the same color for each “scoop” that goes on the ice cream cone. You only need one cone piece for each match up set you will be making.
- Figure out how many scoops of “ice cream” there will be for each match up set. Example – one of my cones, only got two scoops {pink & green} so I had one cone cutout, two pink scallop pieces and two scallop green pieces {total of five cutouts for one matching set}
- Now it’s time for the gluing. Remember to only glue one ice cream cone set together and place the matching “scoops” aside.
- Once I had all my pieces made {repeating for each different colored set and making sure I had the right matches} I placed them all through the laminator.
- Then using scissors, I trimmed my pieces out.
- To finish – simply add your Velcro to the ice cream cone sets, as well as the scallop pieces so they can be matched and stick together nicely.
