I have a confession. I’m a huge sucker for a good Disney movie. Can you relate?
So when I heard the rants and raves about how good Disney’s latest movie Big Hero 6 was, I just had to head to my local Walmart & score our own DVD copy when it was released. And boy am I glad I did!
My Lil Man has requested that we watch it everyday since the day I brought it home. Clearly it’s a win for us and I sure hope you grab your own copy today as well.
But first – let’s focus on why I’m writing this blog post today. Since my Lil Man absolutely loves this movie, I figured it was the perfect excuse to pull out the craft supplies and make a craft in honor of the film.
And of course – our craft had to be easy, super fun and really inexpensive too. So after grabbing a few simple supplies from my stash and pressing pause briefly on the DVD player – we were able to make a Big Hero 6 Paper Bag Baymax Puppet in no time. No surprise – right after our puppet was complete, my son played with as he watched the movie in good spirits.
So what are you waiting for? Don’t you want to bring the colorful world and the iconic character from Big Hero 6 to life through our creative craft tutorial? Well then – grab your supplies, follow our step-by-step tutorial below and of course, don’t forget to make some popcorn & press play on the DVD player.
I’ll let you get to it! Happy crafting, my friends!!! You can also continue the Baymax fun by checking out our paper plate version as well!
Baymax Puppet Craft Supplies:
* Paper Bag – one per baymax puppet craft
* Red Craft Paint
* Foam Paint Brush
* Basic Craft Scissors
* Hand-Held Office Stapler
* School Glue
* Red Cardstock
* Purple Cardstock
* White Cardstock
* Black Sharpie Marker
Directions:
* First have your child paint the front of their paper bag red.
* Set aside to let it dry completely.
* Next grab your cardstock and start drawing/cutting out Baymax’s armor features. I used the back of our DVD for an example on how to draw/cut out the pieces. You can also refer to my above pictures for a better idea. Remember it doesn’t have to be exact or perfect either!
* Once you have all your Baymax pieces complete and your paper bag is completely dry – simply staple/glue the cardstock pieces to the paper bag.
* Then display proudly for everyone to see!
Now before I end this post, I just have one more thing to tell you. If you are planning on adding this great movie to your collection {cause clearly you need to} right now your purchase of the Big Hero 6 Blu-Ray/DVD + Gift Purchase set includes a digital movie on Vudu while supplies last! Simply purchase your DVD gift set at Walmart, scan the receipt using the Savings Catcher in the Walmart app. Then look for a message on your phone or email so you can watch Big Hero 6 ANYTIME, on ANY device!
To top all this off – Walmart also has TONS of great Big Hero 6 merchandise and toys for sale through their online store. What is a better way to really tie everything together {and spoil your child} with some fun toys to celebrate!
Now that I’ve shared with you how we recently celebrated the release of the new Big Hero 6 DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack – tell me how you and your family will be celebrating when you take the movie home. Hopefully our craft will make it on your to-do list!

Okay, I’m not to crafty but I think I could replicate this puppet with your tutorial. I love how simple the shapes were to cut out, but how well they came together to make Baymax in his armor! #client
