Build A Snowman Tin Idea
Have you seen all the busy bag ideas I have been sharing the past few weeks on Glued To My Crafts? This snowman busy bag tin is just another idea I recently came up with, with supplies from Dollar Tree!
My Lil Man is having a ball playing with them and I just love the crafting aspect of it. I’m telling you – they are so easy {and really affordable!} to pull together. I don’t know why I didn’t start making them sooner!
With today’s Snowman Busy Bag Tin craft tutorial, you can bring what is normally an outside winter activity – inside. This means there will NOT be a mess on the floor or a need for winter coats. I say this is a win-win for mamas!
Heck – you could even play with this snowman building activity while it’s 100 degrees outside! And when the playing is done – all the laminated pieces fit inside the tin for safe hiding {my absolute favorite part!}
{Please keep in mind that magnets can be a choking hazard for smaller kids. Always monitor them while they play}
Here is what you need to make your own snowman building busy bag tin set:
Snowman Tin Supplies:
- Large Empty Tin
- White Craft Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
- Magnets
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Various Colors of Cardstock – scraps are perfect!
- Laminator/Laminator Sheets
- Optional Materials – Various punches {heart, circle, square}

Directions:
- First paint your tin top completely white. It might take a couple coats to really get the color you want, so let it dry completely between applications. {You can also use white spray paint}
- If you want to, add a layer of Mod Podge to seal in the paint.
- Next are the various snowman pieces. Cut/punch out various shapes from your cardstock. Don’t forget a hat and carrot noses.
- Now laminate your paper pieces. Trim them out from the laminating sheets.
- The final step is to hot glue magnets to each piece of the snowman.
- Then place everything in the tin and hand it over to your child to play with. That’s it!
- When they are done playing with their snowman busy bag tin, simply close up the lid and store away!

Super fun, right?! I just love how children can arrange their new pieces however they want. Plus it was so simple to pull together, with minimal hassle. I even even this idea being turned into clown instead of a snowman.
