Today on the Glued To My Crafts blog agenda – Easy Paper Owl Gift Boxes.
This is an easy craft that is perfect for party favors or as small gifts for loved ones. I actually made these cute boxes for my friends for Valentine’s Day and I’m sure they would even be great for kid’s to hand out in school.
After putting mine together, all I had to do was stuff them with candy and gift. So simple, yet “owl-tastic!”
You can get your child involved in the making, as well as customization. Change up the colors to fit your style/occasion. Plus it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to make these either. I’m telling you – it’s easy!
Here is what I used to make my owl gift boxes:

Owl Themed Gift Box Craft Supplies:
* Kraft Pillow Boxes
* Various Circle and Scallop Paper Punches
* Small Heart Punch
* Various Scraps of Colored Cardstock
* Large Glue Dots
* Basic Craft Scissors

Directions:
1. Punch out your circles/hearts and cut a nose out of orange cardstock. Assemble the eyes. You can either use a glue stick or do like I did – use glue dots to make everything stay together. Set aside.
2. Assemble your pillow boxes. This should be as simple as folding some corners and pushing them inward. Fill with your favorite treats and/or candy.
3. Now it’s time to put it all together and give the owl life! Just glue the eyes & beak in place. And BAM! You are done. Told ya it was easy!

For added flair and extra crafty fun, simply add customization like glitter, paint or even stickers to your pillow box owls. You can also change up the colors of the owls eyes to match your occasion or style. Whatever you do – have fun with it!!

Hi Tina – honestly there isn’t a best size and I mean that in all honesty :) All sizes would work – it all depends on what size your gift boxes are. Obviously you wouldn’t want your paper punches to be bigger than the gift box itself. My paper boxes measured 5″ X 3.5″ and I used a 2 inch circle punch & the scallop was 3.5 inch. If you go slightly smaller or larger on your paper punch eyes, I think it would still be ok. You might just have to eye-ball the look you want.
