Marbled “Iced” Paper Gingerbread Men

Marbled “Iced” Paper Gingerbread Men Craft

Paint Marble Gingerbread Men Craft

Going with our previous weekend theme of kid friendly holiday crafts – here is another one that is great for children of all ages! I call it our “Iced” Paper Gingerbread Man craft idea. Even adults can participate in the fun!

You won’t need to get the kitchen messy or have any sugar highs with this “Iced” Gingerbread Men paper craft. It’s easy peasy {just how I like it} and requires very little supplies. Again – just how I like it, when it comes to our kid craft tutorials on Glued To My Crafts!

Although I used a Sizzix machine to get my paper gingerbread men shapes – you can always draw, trace cookie cutter shapes or buy pre-cut paper gingerbread men at your craft store. We also used an old empty shoebox to complete this craft – but if you don’t have one on hand, a clean cookie sheet will work too. You just need to make sure it has a good “lip” so the marbles won’t roll out. It’s also good to keep in mind that your child needs to be able to hold & tilt the box/cookie sheet. So nothing too heavy for them to lift!

So are you ready for the details? Below is a picture of what we used for this craft – please remember that younger children will need ADULT SUPERVISION with the marbles and/or beads! We don’t want anyone to get hurt so please keep an eye on them at all times during this craft!

Directions:

  • If you didn’t buy them already, go ahead and make your paper gingerbread man cutouts. On this step you can have as many cutouts as you like!
  • Now place a small piece of tape on the back of each of your paper gingerbread men shapes and secure them in your shoebox. You will want to leave some space between each piece so the marbling affect goes all over the paper pieces.
  • Next squirt some craft paint in one of the corners of the box. Throw in your marbles/beads into the box. Now have your child roll the marbles through the paint, then onto the gingerbread men cutouts. Repeat until your shapes are completed “iced” and have that desired marbled paint look. Once you have the design you like, pull the cutouts out of the shoebox and place them on some aluminum foil or a cookie sheet to dry {kinda like real cookies that need to cool!}
  • Once dry – embellish your paper gingerbread men pieces with small craft jewels, pom poms etc. Really bedazzle them if you like!
  • Then display your marbled gingerbread men in your home for all to see! I displayed ours on the patio window with some tape but like I mentioned above, you can also turn them into ornaments or gift tags with a hole punch & string.
