Learn how I made this crafty bunny disguise for my son, within minutes and with just a few craft supplies!
Let me start with a backstory of how this bunny disguise came about. This past weekend we took lil man to see the Easter bunny on base. I wasn’t too sure about taking him. In fact I started to second guess our parenting decision as we climbed in the car to make the trip.
Will the bunny costume be creepy? Will lil man want to cry endlessly? Will I want to cry because he is crying?
Lil man isn’t a big fan of “big creatures” and like most kids, he nearly cried when we took him to see Santa last year.
I have seen some of the bunny costumes out there. Some need to be locked up and possibly burned so they don’t scare anymore. Especially the ones with the bunny smiling & the teeth showing. Those are the worse in my opinion.
And you see, I didn’t want to be the parent who had the crying child at the event and have everyone staring (and going awww) I just wanted to have him sit on the bunny’s lap, snap our picture & go.
So we stood around for a bit, waiting our turn. Daddy got the honors of sitting lil man on the bunny’s lap. As I was waiting for the tears, lil man smiled. {insert sigh of relief}
Lil man even did good with the egg hunt. Overall, it was a good day.
After our bunny visit, we came home and I decided lil man needed his own “Bunny Disguise.” Not only is this idea super fun for Easter but think of when Halloween rolls around again. Or perhaps for “just for fun” dress up days or even storytime. Gosh – so many ideas! It’s clearly a must-do!!!
Crafty Bunny Disguise Supplies:
Bunny disguise craft supplies: low temp hot glue gun, three white pipe cleaners, large pink pom-pom, one jumbo popsicle stick and bunny ears {store-bought from Dollar Tree}
What I love most about this craft? I didn’t break the bank. Total cost- $1.00. All I needed to buy were the pre-made bunny ears and those can typically be found at Dollar Tree, Target or even Walmart, this time of year.
Notice how I only have two pipe cleaners in the picture? One pipe cleaner was stolen right under my nose. Apparently pipe cleaners are so amazing, lil man always wants to play with one. I seriously could take all his toys away and give him a bag of these. It’s always the simple things, right?
