Today’s craft is called Cherry “POP” Blossom Tree.
When I think of spring, I think of the birds singing outside and blooming left & right. Although, that hasn’t happened yet here in Wyoming, I’m hoping spring is coming soon.
Anyways – long story short, our dreams of spring is what inspired this Popcorn Cherry Blossom Tree kid craft idea! All you need is popcorn, glue and craft paint to bring it to life! Super easy and oh so fun – just how we like it around here!!! Enjoy!
Supplies: plain popcorn, construction paper, white school glue, paintbrush and green/pink/brown paint
First pop your popcorn. And I highly recommend plain kernel popcorn (not the buttery stuff that is in a bag & you microwave) We did ours on the stovetop with some oil.
While you are waiting on your popcorn to pop/cool, paint your tree/branches.
Add some leaves.
Next squirt some pink paint on a plate. One by one, dip your popcorn in the paint.
Be sure to watch your children so they don’t eat it. I wanted to take a picture of lil man dipping the popcorn, but I had to keep a close eye on him. He thought we were dipping our popcorn in dip!
Lay the popcorn on a paper towel to dry.
We only did a handful of dipped popcorn, so we could eat the rest. You can do however many pieces you want.
Once it’s dry, carefully shake off the pieces that didn’t stick & display proudly!
