Want your pumpkins to last a little longer this year? Don’t want to clean up pumpkin guts and/or have to mess with sharp objects? But still want to have some cute, creative pumpkins as decorations? Then I highly recommend painting pumpkins, especially with young ones. We did this last year and again this year.
You can use big, medium or small pumpkins for this. The choice is yours! Would even be fun, if your children are older, for them to pick them out. This year I decided to go with some mini pumpkins (more like gourds) for this project. It was easier for lil man to handle and a lot more affordable for us too. Plus they were small enough, that I could put him in his high chair and let him play for a bit.
I like using Crayola’s Finger paint for projects like this, but you can use anything you have on hand. I just love this stuff because it’s washable and non-toxic. Just in case you have a kid (like mine) who likes to experiment with tasting it.
